The Canary Islands Law 12/2014 , of December 26, on Transparency and Access to Public Information, in its chapter II "Information on the organization and activity of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands", in its second section, dedicated to information subject to publication, details in articles 17 to 33 the information subject to publication.
Likewise, the Canary Islands Transparency Law regulates the right of access to public information, as well as the competent Bodies, the limits on the right of access, and above all, what the procedure for making the request for information, deadlines, etc
On the other hand, it also regulates the Commissioner for Transparency and Access to Public Information, which is the body for the promotion, analysis, control and protection of public transparency and the right of access to public information within the Autonomous Community of Canary Islands.
Citizens and legal entities may present, without any cost or need for a lawyer or legal representation, claims against the resolutions, express or presumed, of the requests for access to information issued within the scope of application of the Transparency Law. by the Government of the Canary Islands, Cabildos and City Councils and by their dependent entities. They can present the claim prior to the challenge through contentious-administrative proceedings.
Finally, the law sets out the regime for non-compliance with established obligations and stipulates the corresponding sanctions and responsible parties.
